Our Annual Fruit Pie Workshops 2025
Our annual Fruit Pie Workshops of the season have wrapped and what an incredibly joyful and productive pie season it was! Thanks to the incredible efforts of over 80 volunteers that came out during the month of September, we made almost 400 pies in total - consisting of apple, blueberry, strawberry-rhubarb and regular rhubarb. This is a true testament to the power of community and teamwork. We were especially delighted to welcome our Spiritual Advisor, Father Michael, to our apple pie workshop, who, despite never having made pies before, jumped right in and quickly became a pro at rolling pastry! His cheerful presence added a special touch to the day.
And to make a few of our mornings even more memorable, Larry Palmer joined us and played music while everyone worked, allowing us to sing and share laughter as we rolled, filled, and baked together.
We are deeply grateful to:
- The men who peeled apples with care and precision,
- The newcomers who came to learn and lend a hand,
- And all our faithful CWL members and guests who have supported this important fundraiser with their time, energy, and joyful spirit.
These pie workshops not only help to raise funds for our Council to support the numerous local, national and international programs we are invested in, but have also strengthened our bonds of fellowship and service. Thank you to everyone who made this annual tradition another incredible success!

June 2nd 2025 CWL Executive MeetingMonday June 2nd, 2025, we held our final CWL Executive Meeting before the summer break at St. Joseph’s Hospice. After our meeting we were provided an insightful tour. St. Joseph’s Hospice is one of the many organizations our CWL Council proudly supports through our fundraising efforts, and this visit provided us with a meaningful opportunity to learn about the invaluable services they provide to all residents of Lambton County. St. Michael CWL 2025 May General MeetingOn Tuesday May 13th, St. Michael CWL gathered for our 2025 May General Meeting, bringing together 43 members for a beautiful evening filled with prayer, reflection, song, and community. Our time together began in the church with a reflection led by our Faith Leader, Christine Bresette. She guided us in prayer centered on the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of Mary, concluding with the Jubilee Pilgrims of Hope prayer. We were also blessed by the musical talents of Joanne Minnis, who led us in song on the piano with the hymns Pilgrims of Hope and Mary, Woman of the Promise. Following this spiritual reflection, we transitioned to Huron Oaks for our Business Meeting, where we enjoyed lively discussions over a delicious dinner. A special thank you to our VP/Membership Executive, Maria Do Rego, for the stunning centerpieces that adorned our tables, adding a thoughtful touch to our gathering. And an especially heartfelt appreciation goes to Past President, Mary van Delft, for her assistance in organizing the meeting logistics and ticket sales.During the meeting, we presented Service Pins to those members who were celebrating special milestone anniversaries, to commemorate their contributions to the League.
